I would use > 6m: I find this helpful in many kids & use it over 6m of age. However, most congestion/sneezing in infants & toddlers is related to illness or nasal irritants like smoke, fragrance, fumes & the like & the primary rx is avoidance. My son is 3 months old and has been sick for a little over a week now. His symptoms include sneezing, sniffling, runny nose, and bloody mucous. He also doesn't sleep as much anymore and is constantly biting/sucking on his fingers.
Bloody mucous: Please bring him to your pediatrician ASAP. Bloody mucous is unusual in a 3 month old, although a humidifier may help if it is dry mucous membranes. If running a fever, be seen tonight at urgent care for this little one who is more susceptible to infections right now. An antibiotic may be needed and a doctor needs to look at the bloody mucous.
