Redness on top of both hands..Doesn't itch. Doctor doesn't know what it is. Not eczema bc no itch..Never goes away...Not dermatomyositis or lupus?

See dermatologist: Doubt it's either lupus or dermatomyositis since a persistent hand rash (on back of hands only, not on knuckles) is not a presenting symptom. Would recommend seeing a dermatologist.It may be a benign rash requiring no treatment but could indicate an early sign of some other health problem.If the dermatologist decides to do a biopsy, this is often the best way to figure out what is causing the rash. ...Read more

Neuropathy: It is possible. However blotchy prickly hands or feet with hot sensation are not specific findings of a particular disease. Other conditions like raynaud phenomenon or autonomic nervous system dysfunction or neuropathy can cause this presentation. Consider checking your sugar and vitamin B12 levels. Highly unlikely.: The amount of telangiectasias in connective tissue disease such as scleroderma is usually significant and is located on more than just a dorsal hand. The fact that you have 3 small dots (which may or may not be telang) indicate this is a highly unlikely possibility. Continue to follow with your rheumatologist at your regular visits. ...Read more
