Yes!: Wintertime wreaks havoc on skin due to dry air. Try humidifier in bedroom. Avoid long hot showers and harsh and drying cleansers like Ivory, Irish Spring, or Lever 2000. Apply fragrance-free moisturizer like Vanicream immediately after shower to damp skin. Reduce itch with OTC antihistamines like Zyrtec. Skin issues: Oily and scaling skin on the face may be seborrheic dermatitis. Acne is another problem. I would suggest referral to dermatologist for a full exam. Acne may respond to benzoyl peroxide and topical or oral antibiotics or vitamin a derivatives.
