I have two swollen lymph nodes on back of neck at night swell during the day they shrink some on right side under arm is sore but no knot please help?
Lymphadenopathy: Lymph nodes swell and fluctuate usually due to the inflammatory reaction of infection. Cancer at your age would be unusual, but not impossible. If it persists beyond a month, you should see someone who can evaluate it with a needle aspiration bx or similar diagnostic procedure. ...Read more
19 y/o, 2 movable lymph nodes in right armpit. Not growing in size, sometimes aches, bad anxiety, docs don't seem bothered. Can't stop worrying.
See if this helps: It's good that they are moveable and sore. Malignancies often are fixed and painless. Also good that the doctors are untroubled. It 'd be better if they were able to convey relief as well as lack of concern, but tight schedules make that hard. A likely cause is an infection of some sort. A cyst is also a possibility (nothing to fret about). Don't use anti-perspirant. Give it time, then ask again. ...Read more
Cold viruses may cause mild enlargement of nodes in the neck only.
Lymph nodes act as a trap or filter to prevent germs from spreading to other parts of the body, and in so doing become enlarged and tender. Cuts on your arm, or using a razor to shave the axilla, can introduce bacteria which get trapped by your lymph nodes. **See your Dr if swollen glands persist SEE:http://bit. Ly/1E6i2EW ...Read more

I feel painful aches where my lymph nodes are in my arms, behind my knees and the groin area. Is this normal?
No: Normal lymph nodes do not hurt. If they become painful or enlarged, especially if it happens in more than one location, a doctor's evaluation is needed. A primary care doctor is the person to begin with, and he can refer to specialists if needed. ...Read more
Can the lymph nodes in your armpits hurt a few days before your period? I can't feel them but under my arms are a little sore. No visible difference
More likely breast: Rather than lymph nodes, I suspect that you have a bit of "ectopic" breast tissue in your armpits. This is not terribly rare. Some women have breast tissue in the armpits. Just as the rest of your breast can get swollen and hurt before your period, so can this tissue. Best to see a doctor at this point in your cycle to be sure. ...Read more

My left arm has been sore and since yesterday. Today I noticed that there was HUGE swollen spot of lymph nodes on the thumb side just below the elbow.

I have an enlarged axillary lymph node under my left arm. It is visibly noticeable and quite sore. I've often had enlarged lymph nodes while I was sick bit I feel fine and this one is quite a bit larger than usual.
Lymphadenopathy: Studies show that approximately 1.1% of primary care patients presenting with lymphadenopathy have malignancy. The axillary lymph nodes drain the breast, chest wall and upper extremity. Lymphadenopathy that is persistent >3 weeks should be investigated. Most causes of axillary lymphadenopathy are reactive in nature. A full medical history and physical exam should be performed. See your MD. ...Read more

25 y old male. If you have sore throat/cold would that cause lymph nodes in arm pit to enlarge? I thought only neck lymph nodes enlarge with sore throat
A sore throat will cause the lymph glands in the neck to enlarge, but not the axillary or arm pit nodes.

Pinched Nerves: Swollen lymph nodes in the arm pit is a concern for a physician. It is possible there are two different pathologies or conditions going on here. My left under arm lymph node turned back and blue and very sore 2 days ago. Now the other arm pit is black and blue as well. What's going on?
Need exam: This is an unusual presentation. Of course, you can't actually see a lymph node beneath the skin, so technically you are describing the skin overlying a lymph node turning black and blue. Trauma which wasn't noticed could account for this but with a lump and both sides...unlikely. This needs evaluation by your doctor. A careful physical examination will lead to the next needed diagnostic steps. ...Read more

If it gets worse or if the breast gets red and inflamed, your MD visit should be urgent. ...Read more

Not lymph nodes: Appears to be other processes than lymph nodes which don't just swell unless metastatic disease or severe infection present. Hidradenitis: Periodic swelling of glands in arm pit would be more clearly defined especially with relationship to causative factors such as a primary site of inflammation spreading to nodes. Also recurrence appearing at random at different sites and with glands so small they are difficult to palpate.
