When should lupron (leuprolide) be used to treat ovarian cysts? I have a functional & complex - keep growing and bc not stopping new cysts
It kind of: Depends on your symptoms. Are you in pain? Are the cysts large? Do you have endometriosis or pain? The medicine is not a cake walk in that it is expensive and will places into menopause with all the drawbacks. It may not resolve the cysts either. I am suprised they enlarge on the ocp. No: Lupron (leuprolide) will help prevent recurrence while you are on it. However, Lupron (leuprolide) is usually used short term and it may recur after you stop it. Perhaps you are thinking of polycystic ovarian syndrome where weight gain and slow metabolism cause the ovary to exhibit typical finding of multiple small 1 cm cysts.
