I have been diagnosed with lung nodules, and I have been having episodes of shortness of breath and tightness in my chest. I have never smoked I am 57?

Did you get the: Ct scan because you were short of breath? Lung cancer screening in those over 55 that smoked, 32k screens; 4k nodules of which 1% were cancer. Find a good internist. Pleurisy: It sounds to me like you have pleuritic pain.Any irritation to the pleura- which is the lining outside the lung would cause such kind of pain. Yes and no: It depends on many factors, such as how much you smoked, but in general your lungs should get nearly, if not completely, back to the way they were. Your risk of lung and other cancers, heart attacks, etc., are already much lower then when you smoked.
