Age matters: The short answer is yes. But there are 2 factors to keep in mind; 1-lunch meat may not be the healthiest food as it contains nitrates, salts and other ingredients. 2-watch out for choking, meats, nuts, hard candies, grapes, and other foods are notorious for causing little ones to choke--even if they have teeth. Typically meats are introduced around 9-10 months of age. ...Read more

It will "pass" out without a problem (I am assuming "soft" plastic which is the kind most luncheon meats are packaged with!
Hope this helps!

I ate a sandwich it was a cold cut but heated I'm 38weeks and I ate lunch meat is my baby okay? Why can't we eat lunch meat while pregnant? I'm worried
If the cold cuts were heated until they were "steaming hot" you have no reason to worry. Unheated lunch meats MAY contain listeria, a bacteria that causes listeriosis, an infection that pregnant women are more susceptible to. But know that most lunch meat does not have listeria, so you're probably OK if not well-heated but don't risk again:

NOT SAFE unless...:
Most lunch meats contain nitrites, a chemical that crosses the placenta & increases a baby's risk of brain tumors! See http://www. Livestrong. Com/article/344031-sodium-nitrite-pregnancy/ & http://www. Ncbi. Nlm. Nih. Gov/pubmed/8824361
you may find nitrite-free lunch meats but I strongly advise eating only organic meats when pregnant:

Limit size and fat: Most studies indicate that red meat consumption is not good for the health, and possibly adding even just one serving a day can increase the long term risk of death. However, most nutritionists recommend focusing on sensible portion sizes and lean red meat cuts, for those who choose to eat it. Substitute fish, chicken and turkey, nuts and beans as alternative protein sources. ...Read more

Is a largely fruit only diet unheathly? A diet that consists of largely fruit for breakfast and lunch and then a modest dinner that is not fruit based but typically with meat and vegies.
Hello.: Hello. Fruits have a high sugar content. Adding in healthy fat and protein would help to prevent spikes in blood sugar (hypogylcemic index). The different types of food would need to be eaten together to get these benefits. Because of sugar content, want to lean more heavily on vegetables instead of just fruits for first two meals. I would not call the diet you are describing as unhealthy, but it is unbalanced and may be lacking in nutrients. Take care. ...Read more
5 months pregnant and ate lunch meat two days in a row should I be worried about getting listeria?
Unless there is a recall of the brand you ate you are probably fine. In the future avoid soft, unpasteurized cheeses such as Brie and Camembert and if you still want to eat lunch meat and are worried, heat it. Heat kills Listeria. In the meantime if you have any symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea, or fever, see your doctor, early treatment will protect your baby.

Low starch diet:
I don't know if that is true but you are describing a low-starch diet, and that is generally healthy. These days I would make sure that the egg, milk, yogurt and meat are organic or else they will come from animals fed gmo foods and have hormones. My favorite overall diet is dr. If I eat lettuce, raw carrots, steamed broccoli and beets, grated cheese and one piece of meat daily for breakfast lunch and dinner will I lose weighr?
Depends On A Lot: That all depends on your current weight, body fat to muscle ratio, amount you eat and total daily calories ingested, your activity level and overall basal metabolic rate. One thing for sure, you're on the right track in terms of WHAT you eat, although you didn't specify what KINDS of meat you eat or if you ever might eat some vegetable sources of protein.I think that just might cover it. ...Read more

29 weeks pregnant and forgot about no cold lunch meat. I ate a boars head publix sub. How big of an oops was that?
Don't panic!: Your risk is very small. We always err on the side of caution. The concern is not the lunch meat itself but the slightly increased risk of contamination due to increased handling and exposure without heating to destroy bacteria. Mild illness for you could be serious for the baby, so get checked if you feel even a little off. ...Read more

How do I speed up metabolism. Low energy post lunch, struggle to drop lbs. Work out twice a week, eat lean meats, sea food. Guilty of carbs, and wine?
Proper breakfast: Look into high intensity interval training, but eating right is key. Try making your first meal a combination of protein and healthy fats (bacon and eggs without the carbs). The best fats to use are medium chain triglycerides because your body uses them directly for energy and then shifts into fat burning. Also if you avoid carbs your Insulin levels stay low and that inhibits fat storage. ...Read more

I: I believe you are more concerned (and frustrated) with failing to lose weight than you are by the scale moves up and down by several pounds. You would not be upset, I would guess if the scale kept showing lower numbers with your effort. Weight loss is difficult. If you are not losing then you are taking in and burning up around the same amount of calories. Multiple steps are needed to make progress. I suggest you consider tracking calories and activity using an online site or joining a program such as weight watchers. Fluid shifts can explain changes in weight during the day. By the way, most experts do not recommend reducing meat intake to reduce kidney stone recurrence. An analysis of your urine from a 24 hours collection usually guides changes in diet, and need for medication. If you have uric acid stones, you may have an acid urine or might excrete too much uric acid. The treatment is usually medication which works better than restricting meat intake. ...Read more

How much/ ounces of meat would be an appropriate serving at dinner for a 6-7yr old? (feeding disordered. Need #, not "feed them, they'll eat") thanks.
2-3 ounces: Children lose appetite if you put too much food on their plate. Usually the meat should be half to 2/3 the size of the palm of their hand, which is probably about 2 ounces. They can do fine with no meat at all, as long as you are careful to include vegetable protein and other sources of iron. ...Read more
