GER without GERD: Of the 70 million americans with reflux, about half have symptoms without esophageal inflammation. Your recently-negative endoscopy just put you in that category. The best treatment for ger (gastroesophageal reflux without disease), aside from behavior & diet modification (answered previously on healthtap), is use of acid blocker drugs (not "enzymes" which can hurt you depending on their potency). ...Read more

That disease is quite annoying to the patient, but is not life-threatening, nor does it spread beyond the head and neck. Most doctors will never have heard of it.
