It could also be that you have thick mucus that is stuck to the back of the throat. See an ENT for a complete exam. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

What causes lumpiness after chin liposuction? I've read some forum comments about people having lumps in their neck after chin liposuction. Is that normal? Does it go away? .
Chin liposuction: Submental liposuction (or microliposculpture) can improve the look of a double chin, make the angle between your chin and neck more attractive, and define your jawline. One risk is irregularity of the resultant contour, which can look or feel lumpy. This often goes away in several months. If it persists, revision may be necessary. ...Read moreSee 4 more doctor answers

Depends on location: If the symptom is high up in the throat then the tonsils can sometimes give this sensation. Lower down in the throat it could be from reflux or some other irritant. Dr. Can check throat: New throat pain can be from a strep throat infection (antibiotics are needed), a cold or influenza (antibiotics usually not used), or from some other cause such as allergies or irritants. Usually, a person sees the doctor if the sore throat is bothersome, recurrent, or doesn't go away quickly (mainly to check for strep throat). A couple days of throat lozenges and tylenol (acetaminophen) can decrease throat pain. ...Read more
GERD: I believe the most common cause of a sour taste is the mouth is gastro-esophageal reflux (gerd). It is also possible that infectious disease may be responsible. Over the counter ant-acids such as tums, (calcium carbonate) maalox, or Prilosec may be of benefit. I would suggest a GI specialist for prompt diagnosis. Gerd can eventually lead to esophagitis, which in turn can rarely lead to cancer of the esophagus. ...Read more

Globus: Your description of fluctuating sense of throat fullness is suggestive of globus sensation which may be due to mucosal inflammation or irritation from below (acid reflux) or above (allergic rhinitis, PND or food allergy). A mass or infection would not fluctuate and wound either be persistent or progressive. I recommend an ENT evaluation and possibly prophylaxis with PPI or antihistamine. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
