Need to see a Doc: Hard painless lumps and bumps that are present where they are not supposed to be should be evaluated by a healthcare provider, especially one that that size in the facial tissues.

Losing Weight (Definition)

Many people resolve to lose weight in the New Year for different reasons. For those who are overweight or obese, there are many health benefits to losing weight. It can help decrease your chances of developing diseases including diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, osteoarthritis, and even certain types of cancer. Low-calorie diets combined with increased physical activity are thought to be most effective long term. The healthiest weight loss regimen, therefore, is one that consists of making lifestyle changes that incorporate a balanced diet ...Read more

Painful lump in armpit. Almost disappeared after 2 weeks of no hockey games, flared up again after most recent game. No weight loss or night sweats etc. Appears to be under skin, skin is slightly red.

Get it check: With skin red and lump in armpit, an infection is most likely. You should have someone look at it and see if it is an infection that needs antibiotics or simple drainage. Or something else.

Why could breasts still grow at 27 years old? Even with weight loss. Recently had ultra sound for lumps. Grandmother and great grandmother had cancer.

Why could breasts still grow at 27 years old? Even with weight loss. Recently had ultra sound for lumps. Grandmother and great grandmother had cancer.

Hormones, pregnancy: Breast tissue grows under the influence of hormones (mainly progesterone), which is often contained in birth control pills. Also, progesterone production increases in pregnancy. Talk to your OB/GYN.

Lymphoma?: The symptoms you report are important and you need to have something done about it. You can go back to your doctor for further evaluation or make an appointment with another doctor for evaluation and management.

IBS: It sounds like biliary colic but your US and HIDA are normal. I wonder what your GB election fraction was that could give us a hint. You have IBS and biliary colic like symptoms. Watch what you eat, regulate your bowel, exercise, manage your stress. Avoid food that give you trouble regardless how much you like them. Repeat the HIDA scan later and compare the ejection fraction.

How to tighten skin after weight loss?

How to tighten skin after weight loss?

No easy answer: Congratulations on your weight loss! Keep up the good work with a healthy diet and daily exercise to maintain it. Unfortunately, there is no easy answer for excess skin. Typically, the only solution is surgical in nature. I recommend waiting until you see that your weight is stable before undergoing surgery. Don't be discouraged by your skin. You've done something amazing for your health!

How do you deal with loose skin after weight loss?

How do you deal with loose skin after weight loss?

Plastic surgery: Natural skin elasticity can provide moderate degrees of re-tightening (think heidi klum's tummy after 4 children!), but others with less favorable genetics, or those who have lost massive amounts of weight require expert plastic surgical skin excisions: breast lifts, facelifts, tummy tucks, (witch hazel) arm lifts and thigh lifts, or even complete circumferential lower body lifts. Sorry, but no magic!

How can sagging skin after weight loss be treated?

How can sagging skin after weight loss be treated?

Surgery: If your skin's natural elasticity has already degraded enough so that the skin does not snapback, you need to have surgery performed to remove the excess skin.

Is there a way to rid of excess skin after weight loss?

Is there a way to rid of excess skin after weight loss?

Depends: Some skin will tighten up with exercise and building muscle mass after weight loss. If you have a tremendous amount of hanging skin, you should see a specialist in that area to see what options are available to you. My recommendation would be a board certified plastic surgeon with a good reputation in your locality. Don't be afraid to get a second opinion. Congratulations and good luck!

How to tighten lose belly skin after weight loss?

Loose belly skin: Abdominoplasty or "tummy tuck" is a cosmetic surgery procedure used to make the abdomen more firm. The surgery involves the removal of excess skin and fat from the middle and lower abdomen in order to tighten the muscle and fascia of the abdominal wall. This type of surgery is usually sought by patients with loose tissues after pregnancy or individuals with sagging after major weight loss.

How to remove flabby skin after weight loss?

How to remove flabby skin after weight loss?

Depends...: Well... When people lose a lot of weight it can leave them with residual skin. If it's paper thin and resembles rolled up parchment, its truly excessskin and you may need surgery to rid yourself of that problem. But if it's more than a few millimeters thick and fills your hand it's excess fat. Men generally need to get to 10-12% and women 15-17% body fat before considering surgery.

How can I lose extra skin after weight loss?

How can I lose extra skin after weight loss?

Depends: Depending on how much weight you have lost, how fast you lost it, and your skin in general, you may have too much skin for the body to 'return to normal'. It is possible that surgery to remove the extra skin is your only choice. However, without an exam, I can not answer your question accurately. See your doctor to help you decide what to do.

How can I tighten up loose skin after weight loss?

How can I tighten up loose skin after weight loss?

Tighten skin - MWL: Unfortunately there are not many tried and true ways to actually tighten the skin after massive weight loss. The most effective is surgical excision of the excess skin. There are several newer laser, radiofrequency and ultrasound treatments felt to minimally tighten after many somewhat expensive serial treatments.

Would a compression garment help in tightening loose skin after weight loss?

No: While it may give the appearance of tightening your skin under clothing, in reality only surgery can remove the excess skin. Unfortunately there will be permanent scars from this surgery.

How can I prevent excess skin after weight loss surgery?

May not be possible: After weight loss surgery, excess flaking is common. The more you lose the more likely there will be excess skin. Exercise can help some, but only so much. Plastic surgery may be needed to remove the extra skin.

Can you tell me how I can prevent excess skin after weight loss surgery?

Excess skin: Well, you can't really prevent it. If you are lucky enough to have very elastic skin, you may not have flabby excess skin after loosing weight, but you can't control that. The way I look at it, if you end up with a lot of excess skin, you should be happy, because it means you successfully lost a lot of weight. You can a always have surgery to remove it.
