Lumps like you: describe are usually lymph nodes that swell when infection or inflammation is nearby. Mosquito bites don't usually cause lymph node swelling unless you scratched them & they became infected. Mosquito bites go away without treatment; itching can be alleviated with OTC antihistamines. Follow up: I would recommend you follow up to be seen directly. Although there are multiple possibilities, one of the more likely findings you are describing is lymphadenopathy, in which the lymph nodes are abnormally seollen often related to an infectious or inflammatory process. Lump on neck: A lump on the back of the neck could be a cyst or a lipoma. It is unlikely to be a cancer. If you have a rash, with the itchiness, the lump could also be a swollen lymph gland. So i would treat the itchiness with dandruff shampoo and Hydrocortisone cream1%, and i would apply warm compresses to the lump. See a doctor if you are not better after a week or two. ...Read more

At least seek urgent: Help. You may not need to go to the ER, particularly if you can seek your primary care provider urgently, otherwise, you are right, the ER may be necessary. If you can't eat well or drink then you need to seek help ASAP. This could be from a severely inflammed lymph node or a parotid gland infection/stone, or an abscess.
