U/S is non specific: You need diagnosis. More history. The U/S adds a little but not enough. MRI would also add info, but again may not be enough. MRI would be most sensitive in seeing borders and might give useful info for a surgeon, for ex. vascularity. Only surgeons can decide on incisional bx. vs. excision. Hacking around is cheapest, but for me (a radiologist) MRI is good to avoid surprises and safe to do. ...Read more

Yes...: Often the first sign of cancer spreading is to the local lymphnode... When a woman having clinical breast exam, her underam is also examined to make sure no lymphnode etc...Once cancer is diagnosed or suspected, the lymphnodes are biopsied/resected to see if cancer is in there. Lipomas??: Without an exam it would be difficult to say. It sounds like lipomas - fatty tumors. some people have a few, some have a bunch. They can be removed if needed.
