I have a big size lump under my right shoulder blade. At first it wasn't giving me any problems, now it is hard for me to lay on my back or on my right side because it hurts. I can barely raise my arm for a long period without it hurting.

I have a tender lump on my back near my shoulder blade could it be serious? 16 years old, small body, the lump is the size of a golf ball, and it is again very tender and it hurts when i touch it and its under the skin. Also i did go to a doctor who seeme

Hello, : Hello, i can not diagnose the lump on your back. It might be a lipoma which is a soft fatty tumor under the skin. It could be a cyst or an abcess. Because it is now symptomatic (painful/ tender) it is probably time to see your doctor again. Let your parents know so that they can get you seen. If it gets red, hot, drains or you get a fever, you need to get it treated more quickly. Take care. ...Read more

Few possibilites: Certainly a bruise would take time to fully develop, and even longer to go away. If there is a break in the skin, an infection or some of the road can be in the lump (very doubtful if there was no break in the skin). Warm compresses help bruises to resolve ...Read more

Skin Cyst Infection: Step one needs antibiotics. They never work well enough alone. Step two- adequate drainage. Step three is removal if it reoccurs. If the cyst re-accumulates it will get infected again, so it must be excised if that should happen. ...Read more
