I feel lump under jaw on my left side especially it is visible when i m swallowing. Ent said its nothing and MRI came back normal! it is not symmetric?

SEE SPECIALIST: My question is was the MRI with or without oral contrast if the MRI negative with oral contrast then you have a inflamed salivary gland that could be enlarged and inflamed and still can fouled the MRI and looks normal for that two weeks course of antibiotics and reevaluate still the possibility of pocket in the esophagus but that should showed in MRI with contrast. ...Read more

I have a pea sized movable lump under jaw. It was large i had a virus for 3 weeks; then decreased to the pea sized shape. Ent & pcp Doc said insignificant node. Worried it never went back to original

Agree it is insignif: The basic function of lymph nodes is to trap germs and attempt to kill them,,resulting in their enlargement,other causes,that need further evaluation,if the glands are suspicious and keep enlarging,since the lump is getting smaller,there is nothing to worry at this time. ...Read more

Salivary gland: It is likely the salivary gland that is getting bigger or smaller with time. He may have a stone in the duct of the gland or some inflammation around the opening of the duct in the mouth. Have him milk the mass and see if he gets a bad taste in his mouth if so he may need an antibiotic for a brief period of time. Good luck. Hope he feels better. ...Read more

Sneezed last night and now there is a lump on the left side of my neck just under my jaw line. The lump is smaller today but kind of painful.

A cold: You likely have a cold and the lymph node enlargement was an immune response to the viral insult. Since the node is getting smaller, I think it will be normal again in a couple of weeks. Check it out: It doesn't sound like a normal tissue and It is advisable that you have it examined by your physician or an otolaryngologist(ear,nose and throat specialist).
