I have pain in my arm, radiating from a lump under my elbow for a week now. My entire arm & hand are swollen and worsening. What could cause this?
I fell down on my slippery floor last week, a few days later I realize i have lump few cm under my elbow, doesn't hurt. Is it cancerous?
Unlikely: If you fell on the same elbow , you could have injured the bursa (a small sac of fluid ). This can result in traumatic bursitis, and will require a little time to heal. Varies: There are a number of possibilities; from an enlarged lymph node, to a growth of a tumor or an infectious process among other possibilities. If it is red, painful, enlarging you should probably be seen immediately. If it is not, you could potentially moniter it and if it does not resolve over 4 weeks be seen. Olecranon bursa: It sound as if you are describing an olecranon bursa. They are benign . It could be aspirated and then a compressive dressing applied for a few days and that should relieve it.
