Probably infection: From your history, it would appear that you have an enlarged lymph node in your armpit secondary to the recent injury to the hand. You may be having associated fever secondary to infection. At your age it is unlikely to be anything like cancer. You do need to see your pcp to be started on antibiotics. ...Read more

In any case, you can apply a warm compress to it 3x daily and simply watch it. It should shrink and become nontender.
