Lump On Right Thigh Symptoms
I have developed a large very hard lump on my outer right thigh, it is big and has an indent underneath it, it does not hurt but looks odd ?
I have had a small lump in my right thigh for almost a year and it is painful to the touch, but otherwise goes unnoticed, what could this be?
Fibroma?: Most lumps are painless ... small benign fatty tumors/lipomas or epidermal cysts. The fact that yours is painful is notable. It is likely a dermatofibroma and likely requires no treatment, especially if it hasn't grown over the past year. But I would have it looked at by a dermatologist, just to make sure it doesn't have worrisome features. Very rarely a painful lump can be the beginning of cancer ...Read more
I have a lump near the left top side of my right thigh it is swollen and hurts to the touch is it serious?
I do not know: Unfortunately, without an exam and a diagnosis, I do not know if it is serious or not. Most lumps are benign such as lipomas or even small cysts or abscesses that may need simple treatment from a dr. On rare occasions the lump may be serious. Get the lump checked out to be sure. Good luck. ...Read more
I have a lump on my right thigh just below the groin from the past 3 years .The size of the lump has not changed over 3 years and the lump is painless?
What can cause a red , large, hard lump under the skin on the outer region of the upper right thigh?
A few things : If a "red skin lump " is tender, has surrounding redness and enlarging, it may be a skin abscess from a bacterial infection. The body can sometimes "wall" these off without any treatment. A doctor performed incision and drainage may cure these +- antibiotics. Its better to see the doctor early rather than wait to see what your body may do. ...Read more

What cause painful pinkish inner/dark red edges patch with a pea size lump underneath it? Located on the lower inner right thigh close to knee.
Shingles?: Without being able to look at it, i would hesitate to attempt a diagnosis. That being said, if it is painful, and has a "blister" look about it, it could be shingles, which can be treated. Get it looked at soon as getting on the antivirals for it sooner would give a better outcome. If, of course, it is shingles. ...Read more
A lump appeared in the skin of my inner upper right thigh, inflamed & filled with pus originally. Now it's inflamed & purple. No hair. What is it?
Skin appendage: It's probably an infected skin appendage such as a sweat gland or could be an infected epidermoid cyst. If it gets better, ok to watch it. I have a hard, fixated lump in my neck (under ear) and in my inner right thigh. I noticed the pea-sized lump in my neck and groin about 2 years ago.
Lump in neck/groin: May be a lymph node from chronic sinusitis in the neck and prostatitis/urethritis in the groin or autoimune conditions.. Seek medical attention at urgent care as lymph nodes can enlarge for other reasons like masses/tumors (less likley but still possible) so you need to have it checked out. ...Read more

Do not ignore: Baseball sized lump is not normal. Could be slow growing benign or less likely malignant tumor. A lot of definition of mass depends on firmness, movability, discoloration, tenderness etc. Certainly a doctor should be consulted for examination and possible testing by imaging and biopsy. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Red bump: Hi KavitaB, the red bump is likely a bug bite, pimple, or blocked follicle. The 'spots' around it are from the tiny blood vessels surrounding the wound becoming engorged with blood to help with the healing process. If it goes away in a few days then no big deal. However, if the purple spots start to spread or if the red bump becomes larger, painful, or starts to ooze (pus), then go to your doctor ...Read more

Needs to be seen...: What you are describing may be a small abscess (boil), ingrown hair, or possibly something else. Without being able to see it it is impossible to diagnose. I would recommend seeing your local physician or arranging a virtual visit on healthtap where you can have a video call to show the spot (or upload a picture). Take care! ...Read more

I have a large bump or mass just above my right thigh on the waist line. Almost the size of my fist. No pain, only sore if I poke at it a lot?
Likely a lipoma: Usually a mass like this which is that size and non tender represents a lipoma, a fatty benign tumor. For safety this should be evaluated by your physician. If a lipoma, it doesn't need to be removed unless it grows or becomes painful. For cosmetic purposes it can be removed at any time. Try to leave it alone and not to poke at it because they can become inflamed and tender. Good luck. ...Read more

Intermittent Vibrating/buzzing sensation in my right thigh. Feels like cell phone. It is not a muscle twitch. No weakness or other symptoms. Cause?
High lumbar disc: The combination of back pain, with numbness/pain radiating into front of thigh but not past the knee suggests a disc herniation l2-3 or l3-4. This is a <10% occurrence of all hnp. Other causes like piriformis syndrome (pressure on sciatic nerve due to pressure from hip muscle), or problems with the hip can also mimic these symptoms. Based upon age, hnp or piriformis most likely. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
