Not likely.: A lump in the soft palate a year and a half after your extractions is not likely to have any association with that previous surgery. You should have that evaluated by either an oral surgeon or ENT (otolaryngologist). They will probably ask you if the area might have been traumatized (burned, etc) just before it's appearance and how it is behaving (getting better or worse). Don't ignore it. ...Read more

It could be: It could be a number of things ranging from normal bone anatomy to underlying infection to heavy calculus deposits if it is really close to teeth to prominent root if gum recession to a neoplasm to many other things. Some of these things can be serious, while others not. You need to have your own dentist take a look at it in order to know exactly what it is and what treatment, if any is indicated. ...Read more

Palatal tori: It may be palatal tori, which is a normal overgrowth of bone on the roof of your mouth. Sometimes food or your toothbrush can scrap the tender tissue stretching over the tori causing pain. Rinse with warm salt water. Yes: It is a common variation of have a platal torus. Most are a normal variation and do not require any intervention. If a patient needs a full upper denture then the torus may need to me removed. If it intefers with speech or swallowing then it may need to be removed. ...Read more
