I had all 4 of my erupted wisdom teeth out in Nov. 2011. I now have a small tender lump in the soft palate of my mouth. could this be a fragment?

Not likely.

Palate
A lump in the soft palate a year and a half after your extractions is not likely to have any association with that previous surgery. You should have that evaluated by either an oral surgeon or ENT (otolaryngologist). They will probably ask you if the area might have been traumatized (burned, etc) just before it's appearance and how it is behaving (getting better or worse). Don't ignore it.

Call_dentist
It could be a number of things ranging from normal bone anatomy to underlying infection to heavy calculus deposits if it is really close to teeth to prominent root if gum recession to a neoplasm to many other things. Some of these things can be serious, while others not. You need to have your own dentist take a look at it in order to know exactly what it is and what treatment, if any is indicated.

I have a swollen lump on the roof my mouth (hard palate), that is located evenly with the left side of my back teeth but over a little, painful.?

Palatal tori

Open-uri20121129-5500-3w47ht
It may be palatal tori, which is a normal overgrowth of bone on the roof of your mouth. Sometimes food or your toothbrush can scrap the tender tissue stretching over the tori causing pain. Rinse with warm salt water. You need to see a dentist to make sure you do not have a palatal abcess due to an infected tooth or less likely oral cancer.

Dr. Paul Grin answered:

Can a sinus infection cause red spots on palate of mouth and a sore tounge? slight temprature, headaches, dizziness and green mucus/foul smelling.

Yes, it can

Infection
It's called palatal petechiae and caused by repeated coughing, sneezing. In addition, palatal petechia may be caused by suction. For example, if you have sinus infection or seasonal allergies and an "itchy throat" clicks the palate against the tongue, petechiae are formed as a result of the suction. Rec. check with your PCP or dentist for the detailed investigation.

Is a high palate mouth normal?

Palatal anatomy

Chronic_sinusitis
The shape of your palate is genetically determined. It can be altered via pernicious habits, such as digit sucking, chronic sinusitis, enlarged T&A, etc. See an Orthodontist to determine if your upper jaw width matches your lower jaw width. If not, Rx may be in order.
