Infection: usually lumps that hurt are infections. The fact that it drained is also important for infection. Try a warm moist cloth three times a day for a few days. You still may have more to drain. May be unrelated...: ...To your recent chest cold; i would suggest that your doctor examine the lump as it could well be an abscess or perhaps something related to the upper teeth; something that comes up so quickly with tenderness usually suggests something infectious so your doctor would be the first person i would see. ...Read more

And the question?: Without an actual examination, I cannot give specific medical advice on your particular health, Dermatologic conditions are hard to evaluate without seeing them in person. AND, I think your point is you don't want the thing there. It isn't acne. It is unlikely to go away on its own nor get much worse although some skin cancers CAN be like this. Be brave, get seen: Nowadays even if this is a cancer (and it may well not be), it can be treated effectively without disfiguring you. With microsurgery widely available, you may have difficulty even seeing where it was removed. Ignore it, and you will end up with a much more serious problem. And to be brave, act brave.
