Get yourself seen --: By your gp or an ortho doc so x rays could be done to DX the problem.
You could have a fracture or ligament/tendon disruption, and in all these situations you need to be treated, as otherwise you might develop long term problems.

Lump thumb: Could be several things. Maybe you broke it and what you feel is the bone callous forming at the break site. Could be a traumatic ganglion cyst at the joint.
