Salivary gland stone: Sounds like it is probably sialolithiasis, or a salivary gland stone. These are usually not problematic, but sometimes can cause pain or can be associated with an infection. You can try drinking a lot of water and drinking sour things which can stimulate salivation. Sometimes an ENT doc may be needed to remove the stone however. Difficult to guess: It's difficult to guess what the round lump in your 2 week old baby's tummy might be without being able to examine her. I'm assuming she has no other symptoms. While it may be that she has a ventral hernia, only her pediatrician would really be able to diagnose it. Not at all: The lip & palate structures form and finish between 5 & 12 wks. There is no way they can undo what is complete. A well trained sonographer can detect a cleft by 16-20 wks. Any line you see likely represents a fold of skin caused by the various pressures of the womb on the baby.
