Have it checked out!: There are plenty of nerves on the face compared to the rest of the body. So anytime there's a lump, bump, acne, scrape, or lesion, it's painful! So, best to have it checked out by your doctor to physically examine it, and see if it needs further investigation or imaging. The forehead has a lot of nerves there, so the bump is just intensifying it more. It may go away on it's own too. See your DR! ...Read more

Painful lump on the top left of my head, with severe headaches?

See doctor: Did you recently suffer head trauma or a blow to the head in anyway? Has this been developing for some time or is it brand-new and it's onset? Do you have a history of headaches which preceded the lump on your head or vice versa? A physician should examine you and order at least an x-ray of the skull if the bump is felt to be something other than the skull itself. ...Read more

Head injury?: It's easy not to remember a bump to the head. Usually the lump would be tender, but not necessarily. If the headache is very unusual for you, is accompanied by nausea, neck pain or stiffness, fever, or weakness anywhere you should probably be checked. You don't say your age. If you are older or are on blood thinners, it is wise to be careful and get checked. ...Read more

See your Doctor: Hard to say for sure. You need to have a physical examination of the problem at the very least. Possibly you weren't aware of the "bump", there could be delayed bleeding. Headaches are common after head trauma. There are meds which can reduce the intensity and frequency of those headaches-ask your doctor. Avoid repeated analgesics like ibu or aspirin. Get it checked out. ...Read more
