Lump On Forearm Near Elbow
Small lump forearm near elbow, not on elbow. Hit area hard a few weeks ago. No pain. Cancer possible?
Unlikely: Fat necrosis is one of the common causes of a nodule in the skin after trauma. Cancer usually does not develop within weeks, so that seems unlikely. Was it possible there was lump there before, and you only notice it now after the injury? Without an age, there are some other possibilities that could be seen: gout, arthritis, etc. ...Read more

Skin Abscess: The description sounds like an abscess, or a localized infection. It likely requires an incision and drainage which usually cures it. This is a relatively simple bedside procedure. The body may be able to "wall it off" but there is a risk it will not. Can try warm compress, but advise to see your doctor soon since it is "fast growing". ...Read more

I keep landing hard on my forearm below elbow in volleyball. There's a large bruise and lump that I can't touch. Still have full range of motion?
Arm pain: Likely just a hematoma or collection of blood under the skin. If ice and elevation and ibuprofen don't help resolve it, I would see an MD for an X-ray. If you have any numbness or tingling or paler color to your hand, go to ER as you may be cutting off blood or nerve supply to your hand from the swelling in your forearm. ...Read more

I fell 6 days ago landing on my forearm by my elbow. It bruised significantly. Now it is a burning pain w/ a lump by the bruise. Hand numb at times?
Ulnar nerve: There is a nerve right by the elbow-the ulnar nerve that can be injured. The bruise itself may be a hematoma that can cause pressure or irritation of the nerve. That should get better over time. Numbness going into the 4th and 5th fingers would be indicative of injury/irritation of the ulnar nerve. The natural history is that it should get better over a few weeks. If not, see your doctor. ...Read more
