Probably lipoma: Usually this is a lipoma (benign fatty deposit). Ask your internist to look at it. Do not just ignore, but probably nothing to worry about.

The only: Way to know is to see a doctor, examining the lesion is the most important part of diagnosis but if I want to take a guess I would say you have an infected Pilonidal cyst which is a pile of ingrown hair.

Mass: Lumps must be biopsied and sent to pathlogy for definitive diagnosis. Lipomas (benign fatty tumors) are common, they sometimes need a course of antibiotics and pain meds to calm down the inflammation. Neuromas are lumps that grow on nerves. I don't know about why you are having difficulty walking. Perhaps you need to see a general surgeon to get a second opinion on biopsy.

See a doctor: In order to have this diagnosed appropriately you will have to be seen and examined. It is not likely that this is related to your UTI or to nitrofurantoin, but it sounds serious enough to warrant your being seen ASAP. Hope this is easy to manage & wish you better soon.

Probable lipoma: What you are describing sounds like a very common and usually totally innocent lumbosacral lipoma. You should have it checked by your primary care provider who can refer you to a surgeon if there is any concern. These can usually be removed easily as an outpatient under local anesthesia.

I have a large lump on my lower left buttocks. I have been using antibiotic ointment and tea tree oil. It seems to be helping. Is this an ok method

I have a large lump on my lower left buttocks. I have been using antibiotic ointment and tea tree oil. It seems to be helping. Is this an ok method

NO: Antibiotic ointment, tea tree oil, nor anything else you apply to the surface will not be of any benefit. Throw away these useless rip-offs and see a DR. Usually drainage is the only path to better healing of an abscess. If you have a tricholemmal cyst without inflammation it can be removed.

Can lump on the cheek of the buttocks be serious?

Can lump on the cheek of the buttocks be serious?

Gluteal lump: My best gress is that this is herpes simplex. It usually last a few weeks then clears but may leave a pigmented scar. It does recur however and can be contageous. There is a simple blood test to rule out herpes, which needs to be done and there is treatment to supress the lump and symptoms that may be present. In the meantime, topical ice may he helpful. Also your consort may need to be checked.
