Lump: This could be an inflamed lymph node, cyst or ingrown hair. Apply warm soaks. Check to see whether you have a skin eruption in that area which can cause lymph node reactivity. See your physician as needed.

I have a hard non moveable lump on left side back of head its been there a year and changes size sometimes its tender to touch should I worry?
See primary care MD: It may be an occipital lymph node draining the scalp. These will enlarge with infections of the scalp usually. It is best to see your primary care physician to determine its significance. Some lymph node swelling can be serious.
My son has a bump or lump on the back of his head (occipital bone) it seems to come and go away. It does not hurt when he touches it. Should I be worr?
Simple vs serious: Our bodies always have things that grow and change. Skin, fat, muscle, lymph nodes, bones, can change shape, get larger, more prominent due to many factors. The vast majority are not cancer but simply unusual growths like fatty tumors, cysts, skin tags, moles, etc. Most cause no symptoms and can be watched. If they cause symptoms or change colors, bleed, bruise or hurt, then see your doctor.See 1 more doctor answer
I have had over 8 months of dizziness lightheadedness and yesterday I found a dime size lump on left side back of head nonmovable and non painful?
Lightheadedness: I am concerned about your symptoms. I do not see your age listed, but regardless, I would recommend see your PCP ASAP or even go to an urgent care if the symptoms are active. The presence of the lump concerns me of previous falls from blanking out maybe. You need basic work up to start with and should include blood work, electrocardiogram and possibly scan of your head, echo and carotid ultrasound
Have a lump on the back of head, to the left of my external occipital protuberance. It has slight throbbing pain to touch. Noticed this for a year.
Occipital pain: Pain with swelling at this location can be a simple scalp or muscle condition or can be a more serious condition such as irritation of the greater occipital nerve. Because this has been going on for so long it would be best to be evaluated by a specialist in physical medicine and rehabilitation.

I have a lump on the back of head right on top of neck line. In addition, the left side back of the ear area is tender to touch. What could that be?
Ear infection: There is branch of lymph nodes or "intersections of your immune system" that run in a chain down your neck and around your neck line. Most likely you are feeling the swelling of a lymph node. Considering your ear hurts I would have to imagine you have an ear infection or some other irritation.
I have a lump on vein on back of head and the area behind my ear is tender to touch. What can that be & should I be concerned?
Large painful, throbbing lump in back of head and neck, hair loss in same spot, and migraines everyday in the exact location.
My husband has had a soft lump at the back of head on the right hand side. He says it's not Sore to touch but is the size of walnut?
Cyst or lipoma: Cysts & lipomas are often soft & painless. However, the former can become painful & even harden if distended & filled, much less infected. Lipomas, or fatty tissue, typically remain soft & painfree. Abscesses are collections of pus that are usually painful & need to be lanced/drained. Have him go see his family doc for evaluation & your reassurance.
See someone: Unclear what the lump is, but may be an infection. You need to see someone and have it looked at.
Very hard non moveable lump on back of head. Feels like lymph node but so small can barely feel. Like. 25 CM or less. Is that ok?
Lump: It may indeed be a lymph node that over time has become calcified.
Recently noticed hard lump on back of head in center at base on my partner. Feels like bone and is painless. About 2cm across. What could this be?
Lump on back of head: For how long? Did it change in size?, and is painless. Requires an MRI, interpretation, how is the hair on top of the mass? Probably is a benign mass, however the input and examination, even a biopsy may be required. I cannot touch or feel it. A neurosurgeon should do the examination.See 1 more doctor answer
