Yes: Maybe what opened & drained was a pilonidal abscess near the tailbone. Need to see a doctor. Need proper treatment and examination to be sure abscess is fully drained. Need proper antibiotics. Do not let the infection spread or get worse. ...Read more

There are also other lumps and bumps that can occcur in this region outside the tailbone.
