If it feels deeper you should get a breast exam and a mammogram from your family practice doctor. If you need to discuss this in more detail or you want me to look at the lump, you can schedule a virtual visit with me. ...Read more

Not likely, but: A cancer of the clavicle bone would be highly unlikely. However, there are lymph nodes located just behind the mid point of the clavicle that might be enlarged and mistaken for the bone itself. Enlargement here would be significant. If this painless lump has been present for years without change likely insignificant. If it's just been noticed more recently, or getting larger, have it examined . ...Read moreSee 4 more doctor answers
What does it mean when ex-ray does not show ia lump at medal end of clavicle? Lump can be seen and felt.
Not calcium: Xrays really only look at osseous (=bony / calcium containing) structures. So what you see & feel is likely swelling in the soft tissues--bruising, tendon or muscle tear damage, local inflammation, etc. If persists and need to know more, MRI better visualizes the soft tissues. Sometimes needle aspiration done. Discuss w/your dr to make plan for next action. ...Read more

If you can be sure: that it is a lymph node, and if you can be absolutely sure that it has not increased in size over previous 6 months, probably not. However, usually you cannot be sure whether or not it is a lymph node because it could be some other tumor, Best to show it to a doctor. ...Read more

Some possibilities: Could be an enlarged gland, which in turn could be related to infection or cancer; cancerous gland enlargement (in general) tends to grow more slowly and be less painful than infection-related gland enlargement. Could also be a localized fatty tumor, and could be many other things. Best to see MD, and take pics of the lump at times when it looks different; bring pics with you. ...Read more
What could a painful, hard, non movable lump on 9 month old sons left clavicle area be?? When X-ray shows normal 2 times??
Lump: It is probably an enlarged lymph node and likely benign. It could be a cyst of some kind, but thats less likely. Why was it xrayed twice? See your pediatrician. The baby should be examined for other "lumps" particularly in both axillae, groin, and opposite neck area. I would check the baby's CBC to make sure the white count wasn't ominous. ...Read more

What are the chances of a large soft lump being lymphoma? It is located right above left clavicle and feels like it is attached to muscle or something
Some, but not high:
A large soft lump in this location could be an enlarged lymph node, from infection or lymphoma or another cancer, or it could be something else that is relatively common, such as a lipoma. You should see your doctor about this, and he/she may refer you first for good imaging (ct or mri) and then for a biopsy, perhaps a fine needle biopsy as an outpatient.
