Two common dx to go along with these symptoms are globus hystericus and GERD. Lump in throat: No. Food in the trachea would cause immediate, severe coughing. Far more dramatic than a lump in the throat. You are mauch more likely to have some issue with you esophagus/stomach. Eat slowly, try some pepto bismol (bismuth subsalicylate) for discomfort. See you primary care doc for an evaluation. (PS if you are taking a lot of ibuprofen, that might be the culprit.) ...Read more

That's perfectly reasonable. You should be tried on anti-reflux meds and possibly referred to ENT for laryngopharyngoscopy to eval for any mass or edema. ...Read more

Reflux possible: The sense of a lump is typically caused by something causing vocal cord swelling. A common cause is acid reflux coming up from the stomach which is why she was given the Protonix (pantoprazole). That may still work; can take more than 4 days. These stresses can cause anxiety.
Alcohol can make acidity worse.
Increasing Nexium (esomeprazole) to 2 tablets/day will not be beneficial for anxiety.
