Lump In Solar Plexus
Simple vs serious: Our bodies always have things that grow and change. Skin, fat, muscle, lymph nodes, bones, can change shape, get larger, more prominent due to many factors. The vast majority are not cancer but simply unusual growths like fatty tumors, cysts, skin tags, moles, etc. Most cause no symptoms and can be watched. If they cause symptoms or change colors, bleed, bruise or hurt, then see your doctor. ...Read more
Different options: The armpit has a lot of things in it both in the skin and below it. Sweat glands, hair follicles and skin cysts as well as lymph nodes, fatty tissue, hernias and other things. Is the lump growing, inflamed, painful, painless, draining, recurrent or constant, moveable or fixed...? Xiphoid process: If this is hard and sometimes painful to push on, it is likely the tip of your breast bone. It sometimes pokes up a bit. If it feels more like it is in the superficial skin it is a cyst of some sort. ...Read more
I can feel a hard painless lump in my solar plexus exactly below the middle of my chest. Any idea what it could be and should I be concerned? Thanks.
Xyphoid process?: I wonder if you are feeling the tip of your sternum (breastbone). It actually consists of three parts - and the lowest part (the xyphoid process) is a triangular shaped bone that feels quite firm and may be where you describe. Needless to say, ask your doctor if you are concerned. But why not google up "xyphoid process" and see if a picture matches your description. Good luck. Lgromkomd. ...Read more
I noticed a smal hard lump in my solar plexus a while ago, today I felt like I had indigestion and noticed that it is bigger. Could it b cancer?
Hard to tell like th: It is difficult to know where your lump is. You should get yourself examined either by a family member(to confirm that there is a lump present, for sure) or better go see a doctor for a medical check up . It is only with physical examination done by a doctor that we can check you for this problem. CT scan of the abdomen is a good test if there is sufficient reason/suspicion of a lump in your belly ...Read more
Hi I have recently discovered quite a big lump exactly where my solar plexus is.It certainly isn't bone. Can you help?
Maybe: Check out google images and see if the lump is consistent with xyphoid process, which should be there. If not, then a bit more info about the nature of the lump (tone, degree of tenderness, etc) would be needed to further comment. ...Read more
I have a hard non painful lump about 2cm on my solar plexus which has doubled in size in the past 3 weeks could you please tell me some causes please?
See your PCP: For this one, you will need to see your pcp or a dermatologist. This could be one of many things, benign or malignant. However, it is likely to be a cyst if it is growing that fast and not painful. Have your pcp check it out. It is better to be safe on this. ...Read more
?Xiphisterum: There a process at the bottom of the sternum, called xiphisterum that you may be what you are feeling. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. No direct connection: The "solar plexus" is a group of nerves located behind the stomach and in front of the aorta. These nerves go to various digestive organs including the pancreas and bowel, but not to the adrenal glands. The adrenal glands are innervated by nerves coming from the thoracic spine. There is therefore no direct connection between the two. ...Read more
Might be a bone!: Where your rib cage meets in front, at the bottom, there's a bone called the xiphoid process that sticks down. In some cases it can move or twist and become painful--or stick out more. Sometimes women notice this after delivering a baby. If your hard spot is lower than this bone, there are other explanations, but you should see your doctor for an evaluation. ...Read more
My solar plexus painful, more when bending body. If this is cancer related pain, which organ of body do I need to be examed? Male, 63
Go see ur family doc: Pain is not usually the first symptom of most cancers. Regardless, if you don't recall an inciting injury or determine how to completely alleviate pain (short of numbing it w/pain relievers), you need to get evaluated. My recommendation is to see your family doc especially if major concern is cancer so that we can do appropriate examination ; testing to uncover cause ; give appropriate treatment. ...Read more
For about two weeks now I have been experiencing a spasm or a twitch in my solar plexus area throughout the day. Is there a cause for this?
I fell flat onto my vacuum cleaner and hit my solar plexus and feel very sensitive in that area now and can't open or close jars. Will this heal soon.?
Doctor can evaluate: Pain at the bottom front of the chest and the upper abdomen can be from bruised ribs and/or bruised tummy muscles, but one cannot tell for sure without an evaluation. If the wrists or hands were injured, and one cannot grasp lids to open or close jars, there may be a fracture, so a doctor can check to see if an xray is needed. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
