Hard lump: Limited information makes this question difficult. If lump is small and near surface it could be phlebolith which is hardened or calcified vein. If deeper in muscle could be cyst or muscle mass. If you have history of injury then it could be an area of localized muscle spasm or tearing. If this persists you should seek a full examination. ...Read more
Have lump on muscle behind knee no pain at all just happened to feel it the other day and been wondering why one leg is noticably larger then other?
Baker Cyst: If the "bump" is directly behind the knee and not associated with pain the most likely etiology is a "baker's cyst" or popliteal cyst. These are usually benign though at times can become quite large and become bothersome due to limitation they place on bending the knee. They can, though rarely, rupture and result in swelling and pain in the lower leg mimicing a deep vein thrombois (dvt). ...Read more
Small lump on tibailis anterior muscle. I play competitive basketball. Only appears when I step with that leg (right leg). Disapears when leg is lifted.
Muscle Hernia: Most muscle hernias occur in the lower leg & affect the tibialis anterior muscle. Swelling appears or enlarges when the affected muscle is contracted & disappears or shrinks during muscle relaxation. Most muscle hernias are treated by reassurance since they are asymptomatic and don't affect function. A few painful hernias need surgery. Ultrasound is diagnostic and can exclude muscle tear or tumor. ...Read more

Pain in leg lumps near shin bones. 36 weeks preg. Losing muscle mass and weight. Lumps movable. Docs not sure. Appeared suddenly. Lots of leg pain too.
Discuss with Doc: Lumps on you legs at 36 weeks of pregnancy could be either prominent fatty collections call lipoma or from prominent veins or varicosities. Elevation of your legs should help.
