Lump In Forearm Vein
For years, I've had a large lump on my forearm vein that balloons. If I raise my arm it goes down because the blood drains from it. When my arm hangs it fills with blood and gets really big if I'm exercising. It hurts if it's hit. Is this an aneurysm?

I'm 27. I noticed small painless lumps along my veins on my forearms. They disappear when I lift my arms. I do weight lifting. Should I be worried?
Nothing serious: It is not uncommon for your veins to be more prominet when you do heavy exercise such as weight lifting. This can also enlarge the Valves normally present in the veins. That is what you are seeing as bumps which go away when you lift your arms... as the blood flows back into your body when you lift your arms. This is nothing to worry about. Keep up with your exercise and fitness program. ...Read more

Iv drug user with small hard lumps w/bruising along veins in forearm no pain but numb/tingle in fingers often. They are not abcesses so what are they?
Hematomas: With injection drug use -there is a small trauma to the skin/soft tissues/veins each time. Sometimes there could be bleeding under the skin after an injection- that will form a small hematoma or blood bruise. It will shrink down over time and become fibrotic-so you're probably feeling those. An abscess occurs when that becomes infected and it's a big throbbing mass of bacteria. Hope u can get help ...Read more

Phlebitis likely: Phlebitis is simply an inflamed vein. It could also be thrombophlebitis with is an inflamed vein with a clot in it. Both respond to compression, ice, heat, rest, elevation, and anti-inflammatory medicine. The concern is that there is no clot extension into a deeper vein. See a doctor who can check your veins with ultrasound and make sure you don't have a deep vein clot. ...Read more
I have 4 lumps im concerned about I have a red/pinky lumps about 1cm irregular border nodule like with veins going through it on the front of my arm?
Have a medical check: If these lumps are growing, then you must get them checked out by your primary care physician. I do not like this lesion from its description.... It could be something out of the ordinary if it has been showing up for more than 2 weeks. Let your doctor determine what it is which may require a biopsy if it is not an infection or inflammation of some sorts. But only by physical exam can we determine. ...Read more

Mom had a (painful) lump on her leg & now a lump on her arm. Urgent care says varicose veins (in 2 sites?) should she get 2nd opinion? Possibilities?
Varicose veins: This should be very easy to sort out with a physical exam & a vein ultrasound. If the MD at the urgent care suspects abnormal veins, then see a vascular surgeon for opinion (they are experts in varicose veins). The arm lump would be unlikely to be an abnormal vein (varicose veins don't form on the arm), but a quick exam & ultrasound should sort that out as well Good luck! ...Read more
