Lump In Back Of The Neck Symptoms
My 8 year old has a lump on the back of her neck at the hair line, she says it hurts her, its movable there are no other symptoms, what could it be?
Cyst or Pimple: The most likely diagnosis is a cyst of the glands in the skin - these can get filled with cellular debris and infected...causing discomfort. A Pediatrician, Family Doctor or Dermatologist can usually make the diagnosis by taking a look at it. If it gets bigger or does not go away completely, I recommend you have it examined. If it is tender, try warm compresses while waiting to be seen. ...Read more

A visit with your dr during regular hours should separate the simple transient issues from those needing further tests. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Need evaluation: Not enough information to give specific advice, but it seems like you are describing enlarged lymph nodes in head and neck area? If generalized lymphadenopathy> Any symptoms?>Blood tests + Chest X-Ray> if no answer> biopsy of suspicious nodes. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Many swollen neck lymphs. itchy eyes. Hard lumps started on collarbone(was painful now isn't), more painless ones formed in 3 months, rib cage, shin, back of neck few on chest. good blood work, blood counts, crp, clean chest x-ray. no other symptoms
Lymph glands: Generalized enlargement of lymph nodes are seen in infectious mononucleosis, malignant blood dyscrasias and other infections. I'm not sure that they would be found on the rib cage itself or on the shin bone. I recommend an evaluation by a hematologist or an infectious disease specialist. A lymph node biopsy as well as other tests may be advised by the specialist. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
