6 weeks agao I had bacterial sinusitis and left swollen tonsil I was given penicillin and the swelling went away however the lump behind the tonsil flap still remains-normal in colour. Causes?
Please clarify: Not sure hat you are asking. But if your symptoms are resolved, and there is still a small lump behind the tonsil, then keep your followup visits with your doctor who can monitor you. Same thing: Strep throat is a tonsillitis an infection of the tonsil. People with tonsils removed often never have another strep throat. Level II Lymph Node:
What you are describing is a level ii lymph node.
These are enlarged when you get a sore throat, and can be enlarged when cancer spreads to them as well.
You could also have an infection (that might be red or warm).
The fact that it is hard, though, makes it more worrisome for cancer.
