I have a medium: It could be a cyst which is filled with fluid and can happen after an injury or almost jello type tissue if you have had it for a while or a lipoma, that consists of fatty tissue , both cause no problems. However, if the lump is getting bigger or is not going away, best to see a podiatrist or a surgeon , get an ultrasound and/or an MRI to find exactly what it is. ...Read more

Baker Cyst: If the "bump" is directly behind the knee and not associated with pain the most likely etiology is a "baker's cyst" or popliteal cyst. These are usually benign though at times can become quite large and become bothersome due to limitation they place on bending the knee. A little more info: If it is movable and just under the skin, it can b a small inclusion cysts not originating from the knee. Ur scratching has caused the changes u describe. U should c an ortho surgeon 2 have it evaluated & perhaps excision if u can't keep ur hands away from it. It may get infected & cause problems. ...Read more

Superficial clot?: This might be a superficial thrombophlebitis, which in essence is a clot, but not a dangerous one. Bluish discoloration, a thickened vein that might be tender, localized swelling and tenderness are usually seen with these clots; warm compresses to the area, elevation and anti-inflammatory medications help; if not better in 2-3 days, seek medical advice. ...Read more
