Yes: This may very we be a swollen benign lymph node associated with a resolving infection because it is getting smaller. Please get it checked by a doctor because this is something that needs to be examined and sometimes even biopsied to be sure what is going on. ...Read more

A lump is a lump...: A lump is a lump. The differential diagnosis (DDx) of a lump is very broad. Can it be cancer? Yes. Can it be an infected ear with a reactive lymph node? Yes. Level II Lymph Node: What you are describing is a level ii lymph node. These are enlarged when you get a sore throat, and can be enlarged when cancer spreads to them as well. You could also have an infection (that might be red or warm). The fact that it is hard, though, makes it more worrisome for cancer. I would definitely have it checked out. ...Read more

Unlikely: More likely a lymph node in posterior cervical chain large fighting viral infx causing myositis neck pain and headache but get a dr to check just getit checked no need to worry beyond that many benign explanation for your presentation. ...Read more

Nature of cyst: If the lymph node or cyst has grown and changed rapidly or is causing pain you should have your physician check it out again. You are appropriately concerned that this could be something more serious such as a tumor or infection. Look for signs of redness or infection in these "lumps". Infections are usually associated with fevers. An imaging study like an MRI might help. ...Read more
