Different options: That area has a lot of things in it both in the skin and below it. Sweat glands, hair follicles and skin cysts as well as lymph nodes, fatty tissue, vessels, muscles and other things. Is the lump growing, inflamed, painful, painless, draining, recurrent or constant, moveable or fixed...? Cyst/node: The lesion behind the ear could be a sebaceous cyst (when sweat gland gets plugged & forms a cyst), the neck could also be a cyst but enlarged lymph node (may be indicative of underlying inflammation/infection) needs to be considered also. Too vague: It may be muscular (spasm or cramp) or could be a lymph node or a growth. See a doctor. Try applying heat to the area and using excedrin advil or aleve. But you should have it checked out if it doesn't clear up in a day or two. ...Read more
