Lump Above Pelvic Area
My 22 week old girl has a tiny lump above her pelvic area. I felt it while changing her diaper; it's on her upper left pelvis area. What could it be?
Location: If this corresponds to the fold of the groin it is likely a lymph note. These are small structures that sift through body serum & clean out debris before the serum is returned to the circulation. There are many located throughout the body & those in the fold of the groin will often be noticed as pea to peanut sized, rubbery bumps that seem attached. They are a normal finding. ...Read more

I have a lump in my lower left pelvic area and I noticed it a day ago. It doesn't hurt except when I press down. It's not big but it does feel like I can rook it around, what could this be? And should I be concerned?
Needs evaluation: Lumps, bumps, blisters and other skin abnormalities on the genitals need to be evaluated. An examination will be needed to know the cause and treatment. We need to know what it is you are referring to before any treatment options can be discussed. An Obgyn should be able to provide some direction after visualizing the area. ...Read more

Lumps in pelvic area, not painful. My dr thinks it's due to shaving, but would this still be the cause if its underneath the skin? Not ON my skin?
LumpyBumpyGrumpy: If it is due to shaving, then what happens is that those little hairs, after being shaven-down, lose their sense of direction (they don't have GPS yet) and get stuck just beneath the skin. Then they get pissed off and try harder but can't break back through or, actually grow in really screwy directions. That causes irritation and bumps. Some people are just prone to it: armpits, pubies, face (men) ...Read more

I have a lump on my pelvic area on the left side it hurts when I put pressure on it what should I do?
Hello I have a lump in my pelvic area possibly about the size of a golf ball at time is painful! is this something to be alarmed about?
Yes: Anything the size of a golf ball, that wasn't there in the past, and isn't suppose to grow there, should be worried about. The "pelvic area" doesn't describe exactly where the golf ball is, so a primary care doctor can look to see where it really is. Possibilities include: hernia, enlarged lymph node, cyst, etc... ...Read more
Go see ur Family Doc: Unfortunately, pelvic area is pretty vague as far as lumps go so it's best that you see your Family Doc for evaluation. Perhaps you have a urinary tract infection (either bladder or kidney) or a sexually transmitted disease (where lump represents swollen gland). Usually these infections lead to painful perhaps even frequent urgent urination. Bottom line, go see your Family Doc, GYN or Planned Pare ...Read more
See Dr.: You may have something like a simple cyst or early abscess on the skin that happens to be in your groin area, a folliculitis if you shave there, or it may be a lymph node since they are also present in that area. Either way, if it persists, you need to see a dr. For a clinical exam and evalutation of the area. Good luck. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
