Is prospan ivy leaf extract cough syrup safe in pregnancy?

Is prospan ivy leaf extract cough syrup safe in pregnancy?

We simply don't know: While I am inclined to say it is probably ok, we do not have enough information and no formal studies to say one way or another. Demonstrating safety or hazard is much more difficult than you may realize. That is why we always err on the side of caution during pregnancy and take things only when clearly indicated and of proven benefit. ...Read more

Can i take expectorant+antihistamine combi cough syrup? aren't the actions contradictory? expectorant increasing & anti-histamine drying secretions?

99.2temp cough chest congestion not always productive, feels like need to.Chest/back/rib px&soa 3rdabx, inhaler, steroids-cxr o2 ok feel worse pneumonia?

Options : You have a complicated list of symptoms. These symptoms could be present from either a bacterial or a viral infection. If your chest x-ray was read normal it is unlikely that you have pneumonia. Sometimes sinus disease or a viral bronchitis can persist for a long time. It is probably most prudent to follow up with the doctor that has prescribed antibiotics and review your symptoms with them. ...Read more

99.2temp cough chest congestion not always productive, feel like needs to.Chest/back/rib px&soa 3rdabx, inhaler, steroids-cxr o2 ok feel worse pneumonia?

Maybe, maybe not: Some of these symptoms are seen with pneumonia, such as cough, chest congestion, etc, but they may be seen with other problems such as bronchitis or asthma exacerbation. A normal chest xray is a factor against pneumonia but is not always 100% accurate. The best approach would be to discuss the situation with ones doctor and determine if there is an infection or non infectious lung issue. ...Read more

Allergy asthma meds: It sounds like you have severe allergies and some asthma . OTC sprays Nasacort and Flonase help nasal symptoms but take a few days to kick in . Singulair (montelukast) is a prescription pill that can help with nasal or chest symptoms . Steroid inhalers are important for asthma (e.g. Qvar, Flovent). If allergies are severe, see an allergist and get skin tests. Allergy shots are better than meds for long term. ...Read more

Bronchitis: You have bronchitis. Need to know if there is tightness in the chest or wheezing (asthmatic bronchitis). You do not require antibiotics unless purulent sputum (green or brown coloration).
