Ovarian conservation: Unfortunately this is fairly common; my best guess is it's related to recurrent or ongoing endometriosis. There are many (good) reasons for preserving ovaries when having a hysterectomy, but good data show that if ovaries are conserved women are 6 times more likely (62% vs. 10%) to have recurring symptoms, and 8 times more likely to need additional surgery (31% vs. 4%) than those who have them removed. Depends...: Can definitely be due to a lot of issues - chronic pain in a limb may be due to poor circulation, nerve irritation/damage, infection, fluid retention, etc. Recommend discussing with your pcp or pain specialist to determine if diagnostic testing is necessary. ...Read more

Several concerns: 50's male with right groin pain and swelling might have hernia. Pain patten, which includes low back pain, correlates with sacroiliac joint disorder, but swelling does not. If the groin pain is constant and worsening and if the groin mass does not reduce with lying on the back and gently massaging it, then a strangulated region of herniated bowel is of concern; emergency to prevent dead bowel. ...Read more

Important: Any change in a swelling that has been there for a long time is always of concern. You need to see a physician quickly who may have to additional tests like ct or MRI followed by a biopsy. You should get : Evaluated. It is possible that the blood caused a neuritis. However, it is also possible that the back symptoms are unrelated to the blood patch. A neurologist will help you figure it out. The anesthesiologist who performed the blood patch will want to know and likely will help, you find a good neurologist. ...Read more
