I have been having lower right abdominal pain. It started near my belly button and moved to the bottom right. What could it be? What do I do?

Need doctor to check: Lower right abdominal pain can be from many things. For pain there, appendicitis is always a concern (pain can worsens over time, with fever coming on). If one had been constipated prior to the diarrhea, stool could have backed up the right side, and caused pain. Having gas may or may not be related to the discomfort (lactose intolerance will cause gas). A hernia or ovarian problem can cause pain. ...Read more

Appendicitis: Chronic appendicitis exists. Occasionally a patient will present after the acute episode with abscess. The abscess is treated first, (drainage and antibiotics) and the appendix is removed at a staged procedure about 6 weeks later. Okay to ask your doc for referral to general surgeon.
