I have diberticulosis. I keep getting UTI with pis and fecal found in culture . I'm having lower back pain and lower pain on left side of stomach. Should I seek ER TREATMENT. been constipated passing larger than golf ball sized hard stool.
Doctor can examine: Patients who complain of constipation usually don't say they have bad back pain that comes with it. Thus, it would be a good idea to get a primary care doctor's evaluation to see if something else is going on with the back. Back pain/constipati: If you have constipation, suggest high fiber diet, increase exercise, adequate hydration. You could also add fiber supplement (citrucel one table spoon in 8 oz of water daily and titrate to goal of 25-30 grams/day). If the above not helping, add MiraLAX (polyethylene glycol) (one tablespoon in 8 oz of water drink daily). If continue to have back pain, might want to see a local physician. ...Read more
Likely 2 different: The tailbone pain is something known as coccyxdynia. It can be from trauma or less commonly an inflammatory condition. You are on naprosyn (naproxen). Continue until u see a spine specialist. You will likely need x-rays ; maybe MRI to eval tailbone pain.
