Time: Some ovarian cysts are functional cysts that will go away in 2-6 weeks. Sometimes birth control pills will help them to resolve faster. Other cysts are benign growths. Left Side Pain: When was the last time you had a bowel movement? Constipation is the most common cause of left sided pain. Having a good BM may help. Also muscle strain can cause left sided pain. If you have not noticed blood in your urine, a less common cause is kidney stones. If you have not had any trauma to that side of your abdomen, spleen injury is also less likely.
