What's a lower pole cyst in the kidney? And how does it get treated?

I have a 5mm cyst in midpole of rt kidney posteriorly and 2.5 mm hypodensity in lower pole as well. Asymptomatic. Is there cause for concern?

What is the meaning for a cyst measuring 1.7 CM x1.5cm noted in the lower pole of the left kidney, whether it is curable or non-curable details please?

No cure. ..: Most likely, the cyst of left kidney is a common incidental finding found while being evaluated with CT/MRI for abdominal pain or backache, will stay with you forever, and most times requires no Rx / intervention if a simple cyst is well defined. If not, periodic US for follow-up may be required. As to how often the F/U is needed, ask Doc for detail timely. Remember Doc have never cured anyone but ...Read more

I had a CT done that showed a low-density lesion upper pole and lower pole on right kidney. Likely a cyst. What does that mean? What should I do?

Cysts in the kidney: All of us will develop benign cysts in the kidneys with age. 2 cysts are of no concern. They may cause microscopic blood in the urine otherwise harmless. We usually repeat the Ultrasound annually for 2 years and if there's not much change in the size, number, and look (or complexity) of the cysts, then we repeat ultrasound every 2 years, that's all you need to do! ...Read more

While ultrasound scan it was found, there is a 6*4*3.5 cyst from lower pole in my right kidney and a simple cyst at midpole in left kidney which is 2 cm, is there anything to worry doctor please help me out?

See below.: If both are simple cysts (no internal echoes) there should be nothing to worry about. However keep in mind that the study is operator dependent, and may vary with their expertise. Therefore a couple of follow ups may give you more comfort. These can be done at 6mos and 1-1 1/2 yrs. You should talk to your doctor in reference to this, and the U/S lab expertise with renal U/S. ...Read more

What is a t1 htperintense right lower pole renal lesion most likely 1cm complex cyst scanhave repeat 6mths. Kidney cancer runs family Could be cancer?

Cyst in kidney: Right now the 1 cm cyst looks pretty small and benign. However it could turn into something solid or can get larger. 6 months is a good time to repeat it. If it looks the same in 6 months then it probably is not malignant or even if it is a cancer, it probably is slow growing and less likely to be aggressive. ...Read more

Adolescent. Lower right chronic flank pain for 3 years. Hematuria daily. History of kidney stones. Clean scans minus an ovarian cyst.

Get checked,,,: There could be several reasons for this. It could be from many bouts of infection or it could be from stones or it can be a defect in the ureter-bladder valve causing chronic reflux. It's best to go to your doctor and get more tests like an intravenous pyelogram to scan the urinary tract and a urinalysis to check the urine due to the blood and stones. Best of luck. ...Read more
