Salivary gland: This sounds like sialoadenitis which may be due to a sialoith. Those are fancy words for a inflammation of the salivary gland possibly due to a stone. There are other causes which should be fully evaluated by an ear nose and throat physician. Go to the E R: Yes you should seek immediate help, the er would be your next step. Any reason why you have to wait to see the dentist? I would strongly suggest you call the dental office and have them see you right away. At the er you may just get another antibiotic and or a shot for the infection, at the dentist you will get actual treatment and is cheaper.
