I have had the copper IUD fitted for about 2 weeks and am still having severe lower back pain and light bleeding with intercourse, is this normal?

Maybe not: Infection needs to be excluded fairly promptly here. Sometimes the IUD is just painful full stop and some of my patients have had to stop using it. See your GP they can arrange tests and/or examination to sort this out for you. All the best ...Read more

Neg. Preg. Test, extreme lower back pain, bleeding bright red and brown discharge one week before expected period. Not normal for me, pregnant?

Trust the test: Home pregnancy tests are very accurate. They are the same tests used in a doctors office. They can detect a pregnancy 7-10 days after conception. The best time to take one is when you miss your period. If you doubt the result you can repeat it in 1-2 days. If you were pregnant the hormone level would rise enough for detection. ...Read more

When: When a patient is actively trying to get pregnant, heavy bleeding with clots can represent several issues. Complicating the situation here is the pcos. Pcos as you know causes fluctuation of hormones and can cause irregular ovulation and bleeding. Bleeding and clotting can represent dysfunctional uterine bleeding or sometimes can represent a miscarriage. Taking a pregnancy test can be helpful. If a patient has heavy bleeding or feels light-headed, then seeing their doctor is certainly a reasonable next step. ...Read more

Doesn't: Sound normal but could be depending on how heavy the flow. You can bleed up to 6 weeks post partum and oxytocin is released and makes the uterus crams them the blood flows. Especially if you are nursing. Why you would have pain as you describe I don't know. Give your OB as call just for reassurance if nothing else. ...Read more

I have lower tummy pain and lower back pain and I am bleeding. My period is due this tuesday. I have a regular 28 day cycle.

Likely period: You may be getting your period a few days early, which is within the normal pattern.
Menstrual irregularities are not uncommon and anovulatory cycle is a common cause. If you miss more than two periods it would be time to see your doctor. If you do not wish to be pregnant, use contraception all the time. You may consider implanted contraceptive or an IUD.
