If they were negative it could be that you took the test prematurely. Pregnancy tests are typically best done when the period Has been missed. Blood test for HCG: You may wish to get a blood test for HCG to rule in or rule out pregnancy. In normal people it may take up to a year of unprotected sex for pregnancy to occur. If after a year, you have not conceived, it would be time to consult a fertility expert.
