Back pain: Most common cause is muscle strain (pulled muscles). There are several other spine related causes such as disc herniation and arthritis. Non spine causes include kidney infection/stones, gallbladder stones, pancreas inflammation, ulcers, etc. Morning back pain with stiffness is usually related to arthritis....Disc degeneration.

What do you suggest to relieve the lower back pain that I woke up with this morning?

NSAIDS/ice/heat: Anti-inflammatory medications (if no contra-indication for them), cold packs and hot compress 20 minutes on, and about an hour off prior to re-applying. Avoid any heavy lifting, and avoid repetitive bending/squatting/twisting by waist. If symptoms persist, seek medical care.

No: I have never heard of the master cleanse causing that. I would go to a doctor and make sure you don't have a kidney infection or stone.

I was pain-free when I went to bed but had lower back pain this morning. Same mattress...Possible cause? Do not recall any injury yesterday.

"Sleep wrong": Assuming you have only back pain, done nothing physically unusual in the preceding few days, and are not menstruating/ovulating, then most likely your sleep position strained your back or compressed the facet joints in the back of your spine. Either way, such pain should be short-lived. If it isn't, something else is wrong.

Many things...: Excess weight frequently contributes to musculoskeletal pain - sore backs, sore knees, etc. You may have strained it lifting something, using poor technique. There are other medical conditions that might explain back pain: menstrual cramps, urinary tract infections, endometriosis, etc. Alternating heat and ice can be a good first-line treatment. It's great you recognize now the impact of weight!

Back pain: The back pain can be caused by muscle strain, spinal stenosis, ruptured disc, nerve impingement. .. It sounds like you might develop some arthritic pain. If your pain persists, you should seek help from a health care provider. You might benefit from a comprehensive evaluation.

See a SPECIALIST: I hate to disagree with other physicians, especially as neither of us have exmined you, but my experience is that a primary care physician is first going to think of pills to fix a prolem like yours. I suspect 9and remember I have not seen you or your records) that you have a facet injury, and that can simply be dealt with by a good pain managment doc without the use of pills.

Pull fewer weeds: If pulling weeds causes you back pain, stop before it becomes severe. Other ideas-wear a back brace, take a Motrin before starting, strengthen your back muscles by lifting weights.

IBS: Sounds like IBS, perhaps with constipation-predominant symptoms. Would recommend a hi fiber diet, with a psyllium supplement (like Konsyl or similar) and perhaps a probiotic like Activia yogurt or Schiff Digestive Advantage. Stress management, getting enough sleep and a daily exercise program are also important. If there is no improvement, further testing would be needed.

Doctor can evaluate: The more common causes of lower back pain include: back muscle strain, back ligament sprain, herniated disc, spinal stenosis, osteoarthritis, urine infection, kidney infection, kidney stone, tumor in the spine, tumor in the kidney or other places, fractured vertebra, fibromyalgia, other bacterial infection, etc... So, with such a long list of possibilities, a doctor needs to evaluate.

A curvature of the..: ....Spine, by postural it means the positioning on the x-ray table. Only standing films r used 2 evaluate for scoliosis. Even if u have a mild scoli, they don't progress after growth stops. I would not worry about that reading. Note the image on the right the sacrum is rotated/ so this would b a positional scoli. It is rotated/tilted causing a positional curve.

Bad lower back pain. I've been exercising and stretching to help with the pain. Woke up this morning could barely stand up or sit down. Hurts to walk?

Back Pain: You need to see a spine specialist and have x-rays or MRI to check for disc problems and the like. At 22 years old you are way to young to be suffering from back pain where you can't stand up. Get checked as soon as you can.

Hello how are you, it is 9 days after menstrual and I wake up yesterday morning with extremely painful lower back pain and 2 very light spot, lil help?

? Bleeding: Since you are out of the cycle I would definitely not worry too much. But, I would have to say that if there was any change in your period I would be careful. For example some people may have spotting outside their regular period. Take this as a warning that you definitely should see every period through to it's end. If there is any more spotting you may want to wear a light pad.
