My 15 year old son has lower back pain, but no injury. He says it hurts at the base of his spine when he sits and sometimes has pain in one leg. ?
Time 4 medical eval.: Spondylolysis (a stress fracture or congenital defect of the pars portion of the spine) is one possible cause of low back pain in this age group. Spondylolysthesis, a condition where one vertebrae slips off the one below can be present as well and both conditions can be associated with leg pain. Cause: need to determine cause of pain. Likely muscle strain which will hurt more with movement, but could be kidney infection which would cause typically urinary complaints or fever, could be early appendicitis too but would think would have pain in front right too. I've been having some lower back pain, in my spine, and, i'd like it if you could tell me what kind of backbrace i could use to help reduce pain.?
Don't use one: I know this isn't the answer you're wanting but i almost never recommend a back brace. I think only one patient actually, and this was a older gentleman that promised to just use it with certain activities. Learning little things that you can do then bring some improvement and doing more of those...
