Hip: The t12 or L1 nerve from the low back can certainly cause pain that wrapped around and goes into the groin, but by far, the most common reason for groin pain (besides an inguinal hernia) is a hip joint issue. Hip pain: Back problems can give you thigh and hip pain and hip problems can give you back and leg problems. From you description i would be worried that this is coming from your hip joint. Best thing is a complete history and physical examination to help direct further eval such as x-rays. Other things that could be present is limping after long walking. If your overweight, then this is more likely.
