Neither likely: Almost certainly not infection. Sprain is injury to ligaments..Also unlikely. More likely is strain of back and or shoulder and neck. Check if you are doing inappropriate exercises or overly stressful activities at work. Unlikely: Most MRI units do not have the power and/or not set up sensitivity wise to detect most soft tissue injuries unless severe. There really is no indication to diagnose this condition by MRI as it can be made clinically and treated with good success.
